Description

Matheson played fine last year but he's also overpaid and not a top four defenseman on this team. Friedman played in his spot for the first three games and did well for a fraction of the cost. Get out of his contract, see if Strome can play, and move on if he can't.

Bowman is a terrible GM who just gave Seth Jones one of the worst contracts in the league. Taking on Matheson is nothing to him.

Updated with Carter being out with Covid and Crosby likely being back in the next game or two.
