Calgary only makes a move for Eichel if they are sellers at the deadline, seems backwards but he will have to recover from surgery. Let him sit the year gear up for next season with a healthy Eichel.

Nah Eichel will be moved long before the deadline, if Calgary pulls the trigger it will be in the next month
Becuase Calgary wants to do something in the playoffs
In any capacity of a deal for Eichel the Flames are going to have to move a serious core piece then have Eichel come in and sit on LTIR for x amount of games, that's not really a recipe to even make the playoffs? IF they look like a playoff team with this roster they won't make an Eichel move, if they're selling at the deadline you get Eichel and reset for next year with one more yeaer of Sutter

Monahan + Zadorov covers the cap issue, add futures and were good. Sure loosing Monahan with no immediate replacement can hurt but definitely still sustainable. Backlund can move up or one of Dube/Coleman can transition to center. Eichel comes back around the beginning of February and its golden. There is a reason Calgary is so heavily reported to be in on him
