Bailey

Created by: Db1899
Team: 2021-22 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 24, 2021
Published: Oct. 24, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bailey has a worse impact on Barzal’s line than Leo Komarov - he cannot keep up with Barzal. The smart move would be to swap Bailey and Wahlstrom after seeing the 2nd line have success with Palmieri.

agree. i get that they don’t want to split up that third line since they’ve been solid together, but bailey is a bad fit with barzal.

Trotz didn’t want to change up 3 lines yesterday which is understandable , but after seeing the 2nd line look great it makes too much sense to swap Bailey and Wahlstrom. Pageau has a history of carrying players and Parise has been pretty good at driving play so far so overall the swap would yield positive results.

I know it’s only 5 games, but it’s funny how many fans thought Bailey was better than Eberle and were thrilled when Seattle didn’t take Bailey. Eberle was a below average finisher but there’s value in being a possession specialist and keeping the puck in the ozone. Whenever Bailey is on the ice his line gets hemmed in which leads to more goals against

You aren't wrong but that third line has been the best on the team this season. Don't think Barry touches them until they give him a reason to

Barzals line was by far the worst line yesterday against one of the worst lineups I’ve ever seen. That was because of Bailey. Can’t have your best players line hemmed in the D zone the entire line so you can keep your 3rd line together.

The real thing to do is bench bailey until he gets back in games bc of his play.

I would do that that too - call up Golyshev

Best thing to do would be to keep Bailey in the Top 6, wait for him to hit a hot streak then flip him for help on defense. In the meantime, let Golyshev be forward 13 rather than Bellows. If we bench Bailey now, we won’t have any ability to flip him.
