Bowen Byram starts with Jack Hughes at the very least. Not lesser quality pieces.

I could see how this is not a good enough trade for Bryam but there is no world where Bryam is = to Hughes Hughes is just at another level and his potential is far greater than Bryam. There is no way you are getting Hughes unless you give us MacKinnon

Hughes' potential is a #1 C and Byram's potential is a #1 D. Its too early in their careers to say who will be the better player

Certainly wouldn't hire "camera personality" Tortorella" as the head coach.

Haha. What?
(Two Byrams couldn’t get one Hughes).

Ty Smith has similar potential. I wouldn’t consider him a fair swap with Avs 1C though. Even two Ty Smiths doesn’t get me McKinnon.

No chance on Torts. Our GM is former player, and rose through player development. Last guy I could imagine he would hire.

Also, little early to pull the plug on Lindy.

I really dont think thats a fair comparable here. MacKinnon is pretty much the consensus 2nd best player in the world while Hughes/Byram/Smith are all 21U and, although they look promising, they arent established top tier players yet

MacKinnon > Hughes > Byram > Smith

Sure, MacKinnon > Hughes at this point
And Byram and Smith are comparable.

But it was a comparison of Byram and Hughes, which is silly and only said to get a response out of people.

Its still too early in any of their careers to compare Hughes, Byram, and Smith. I agree Hughes is more valuable than Byram right now but they are both 20 years old and we cant say for certain who will be better. None of them have broken out into superstar territory yet and they all have high enough ceilings to do so

I could see that about torts but I don’t think lindy ruff is the guy, he doesn’t seem like he is doing great and it’s strategies. He challenged a obvious goal a few games ago and the team scored on the PP from the failed challenge. But the biggest thing about Ruff is he doesn’t keep lines together, no one forms any chemistry because he barely keeps lines together. If you look at successful teams they have superstars yeah but all the players on the team have been playing on the same line for a long time they know exactly where the other players they play with are going to be because they have built up chemistry over time. The devils don’t have that and clearly won’t get it under ruff and that’s why I don’t think he’s the guy.

I'm good with the line mixing and matching.
When a good thing is going, he keeps them together.
Once NJD matures as team, I imagine we'll see stickier line combos.

Also with injuries to Nico and Jack last couple of years have forced him to switching things around.

Credit to him for figuring out Zacha (best on Nico's wing), giving second chance to Johnsson, giving shot to Mercer this year, Sharangovich last year.
None of that happens with the mixing and matching.

True I agree but all I am saying is once they want to find playoff success they will need chemistry
