I wouldn’t trade Edvinsson and I’m not even a Detroit fan. I thought it was always a perfect fit even months before the draft. Edvinsson, Cossa, Raymond and Seider actually makes me a big fan of Detroit

1. Wtf are those D pairings

2. Don’t trade Edvinsson, he’s our best chance at an elite LHD. Especially not for Coots, he’s good but he’s not what this roster needs IMO.

I respect that this is, of course, your dream roster, but it’d be more of a nightmare roster in my eyes.

Oesterle has 2 years he's not getting dealt, DDK to Arizona first off he doesn't waive, And secondly Arizona isn't a playoff team so not happening same with Chicago. No thanks on Couturier That's a package you give up for Eichel not Sean Couturier.

I was just about to say "I feel like this is the first time since 2013ish that anyone anywhere has had Marc Staal as their dream teams top pairing dman".

Coots has a better HOF case than Modano FWIW

They're going to finish with similar scoring numbers

(Adjusted for era and TOI)

Similar lack of Hart trophies

But one is one of the best selke F of his generation

The other was just pretty good in that regard

Couturier better possession numbers too

- DeKeyser wouldn't waive, so that's not happening
- De Haan doesn't help us, at all. Pass on him.
- Could have had ABB for free on waivers. Not trading for him.
- INSANELY hard pass on moving Edvinsson. I'd much rather have 15 years of Edvinsson-Seider anchoring our defense and that doesn't even account for the draft picks we should be using, not trading away.

I don’t think so, Coots would have to get get a point per game until he’s 40 to reach Modano’s numbers. Also important to note that Modano played a good majority of his career in the dead puck era, it’s not like adjusting those points for the era would make that much of a difference. Also remember that Modano is still the points leader for U.S. born players, and #24 overall in that regard. Couturier would have to play for a long time to make the hall of fame. Just think about Henrik Zetterberg, who is considered a “borderline hall of famer” among many. Would you consider Couturier to be better than Zetterberg? While it’s definitely a possibility Couturier makes the hall of fame, the stars would need to align for it to happen IMO.
