No. Don't know why the Rangers would give up on a # 1 overall. If Friedman is better than Holl, why do the Pens do the trade? If Holl is better which he is, , why do the Leafs make the trade?

I think you assembled a contender by fleecing Ottawa and New York.

    Nothing serious about it.

Lol, in what universe would the Rangers accept a Laf package this pathetic and the Hawks turning Strome into Nick Ritchie. Both Original 6 teams decline these bad trades.

Everyone sees Zub in this trade and not Chabot right?

Hawks decline; they don't want a 1 year rental and a 2 year rental for 2 RFAs

    I am serious.

    1. Zub is a steal with two years left instead of one at 2.5 million.

    2. Ottawa would definitely consider this trade from Toronto if it was, in fact, just one year left.

    3. The Rasmus Ristolainen and David Savard trades should serve as precedent, considering that Zub is better than both of them.

Savard was a deadline addition which is different and the Risto trade was downright awful for Philly. On top of all that Zub being a decent defenceman on a team without much defence doesn't make him an all-star. Getting a 1st for him is insane. Getting a 1st, a highly touted defensive prospect who's killing it in his league and won top defenceman at the juniors as well as a younger NHL defenceman who's been really good this season is an insane price. You are showing major bias.

    Alright then.

If you were the Leafs GM, what would you pay for an Artem Zub at 2.5 million x 2?

    As of right now?

And which trade(s) would you use as precedent?

I'm genuinely interested in your answer.

Due to Toronto’s cap situation, Holl is an expensive third pair defender so they will need to find someone cheaper.

Why aren’t those trades fair? NYR gets 2 B+ level prospect for one that is A-. Chicago and Toronto swap misfit young players

I think both ritchie and Mikheyev have upside, they can develop into good players with chicago unlike Strome & Nylander.

Getting a proven D prospect with tremendous results should be the dealbreaker for OTT.

Contracts matter and in this case Chicago has no use for UFAs versus RFAs

In other words, you don't have an answer.

Even though the Leafs are looking at replacing either Dermott or Holl.

    Cool.

If they replace him, they would want something better than Zub I'd wager
