Are we assuming Forsberg will still be injured for the remainder of the season? Otherwise, I don't see anything of value for NSH here.

I think the Avs would keep JT based on his improved play. Those rentals would probably cost a 1st and decent prospect.

However, wow, look at that roster! Two 1st Lines...

Hertl gets to pick three teams he could be traded to, I don't think San Jose is going to get extremely high offers because of that, but I could see the Avs going as high as Justin Barron and a first round pick although I think Sakic can get a deal done without giving up Barron.

He can waive that if he wants, I think he would rather play on a playoff team than a bottom sharks team.

I'm sure the three teams he would pick would be playoff teams. Waiving that gets rid of his leverage, it would make zero sense to waive it. And if the Sharks don't trade him then they lose him in the offseason for nothing.

Yes but 16 teams make the playoffs, if another team is interested I’m sure the sharks will ask him to waive, of course that doesn’t mean he will.

The sharks won’t lose him for nothing, but they sure as hell aren’t going to lose a trade either.

Hertl has a good relationship with Wilson and Wilson trades him he will take care of him. a 2022 1st is required so colorado is out.

I guess it depends on if you believe Compher is for real this season…. Even then Compher is a UFA after next season so at best it’s delaying the eventual trade for futures so I don’t think we would bother
