Luckily colorado couldn't fit drouin under the cap, which isn't outweighed by the fact they don't want him

Drouin has significantly more value than that.

Does MTL fans actually believe Drouin is worth a top D prospect and a 2nd rd pick? You do realize MTL trying to peddle Drouin is going to get some variation of this kind of answer from opposing GM’s “how do I know he is going to be available come playoffs? You don’t actually think his draft status from 8 yrs ago reflects his value now? He’s played a full season once and is on IR right now. How much are you going to retain? How about a 3rd?” To say Drouin doesn’t have any real value right now isn’t an understatement.

Ah the hey they played great together 8 years ago in juniors argument. Nathan MacKinnon wants to win in the playoffs period. Drouin didn’t play in the playoffs. I think it would be safe to say MacKinnon is fine with Drouin not being on the Avs.

In the expansion draft, yeah. So was Tarasenko.
Then both started playing hockey games again…funny how that works.

Get rid of? Oh, right, on your hockey teams there’s only one line.

Rangers do not do that trade. Currently, Drury and Kravtsov are currently working together to bridge the gap they have in their relationship and reform a connection between Kravtsov and the team. This episode is similar to the Puljujärvi situation in Edmonton. I personally believe that Kravtsov will be back as a Ranger sooner rather than later.

Landeskog wouldn’t be the guy you “get rid of.”

Habs are interested in Kravtsov, it’ll be interesting to see if something happens there. I don’t see the Habs giving up on Lehkonen though.

So drouin takes rantanens spot?

I guess that would help the avs become a worse team that's 5 mill over the cap... if that's what you're trying to do?

You can afford him, if you choose to. Every decision is a relative decision against every other player on your team in a cap world.
You’re choice of Landeskog is a strawman argument.

but avs chose not too because what ever salary they move out is going to be better than drouin. johnson is probably the worst contract on the team and johnson > drouin

Years with mackinnon:
Landeskog 9
Rantanen 7
Drouin 2

Ever stop to think that drouin was only drafted as high as he was, was because mackinnon made him better?

That's like saying you should move marchand or pastrnak away from bergeron for michael tessier

Out of curiosity, how many Drouin games have you watched recently?

You mean since he's been injured or when he sat out the playoffs... or the small window in between?

Either. Just curious if you have such strong opinions after watching games, or based on other things.
Like if the number is zero. Or any other specific number. I’m curious.

It's clearly not high as I'm not a fan of the habs, I'd put it around 3, but 11 games wouldnt change my opinion of him in his careeri

“Around 3…” That’s interesting to me. Against which teams this season? I’m curious what your perspective was on his play in those games (and your openness to objectivity).

Since I live near Toronto, against Toronto, Seattle and another team I don't remember since I didn't know there would be a test later... I find drouin to be a matt duchene type of player, skilled but lazy especially defensively.. and streaky.. not a player I'd want on my team or first line
