Caps trade is a hard pass. They have enough defenseman as it is, the lines are all playing pretty well, and they certainly aren’t paying a 1st round pick for a guy that would end up on the 3rd d line at best.

You understand that if Weber retires that not only is Nashville in cap Hell, but Habs get dinged too by a cap hit?

Montreal at the cap limit can not afford to take on dead cap.
