I guess we will see how Broberg is in the NHL, but I don’t like it. I don’t mind the call up, but with Nurse out a couple of weeks, we may have to trade for a good defence man so we don’t fall in the standings…. I guess we will have to see how Broberg does first.

If Nurse be out for a while Friedman's prediction could come true sooner than anyone expected

I wonder how Chiarot will look in an Oilers jersey

im cautiously optimistic about boberg, i personally think samorukov is more nhl ready but broberg is very similar stylistically to nurse.

Big, Mobile, Carries the Puck, can make a clean pass. He is not as physical as nurse but he is a highly athletic man in a way some of our other dmen cannot be.

And Broberg seems on top of his game down in Bake right now. A good time to look at him for 2 weeks. Samo just needs more time post injury.

If Nurse is out for two weeks, he will miss 6 games. Within that stretch, the Oilers play Chicago, Dallas, Arizona, Vegas, Pittsburgh, and Seattle; it would not be the end of the word if Edmonton gave their prospects some NHL reps and went 3-3 in that run.

The situation gets really problematic if Nurse is beyond two weeks because games against L.A., Minnesota, Boston, Carolina, Toronto, and Columbus are what follows. On paper, that second group of teams has potential to run roughshod over Edmonton's depleted cohort. Its not unreasonable to worry that the impact of Nurse's absence could run Edmonton's record in that stretch to 0-6.

There is a short window of time before things might become critical for Edmonton. I hope Holland is taking a bit of time to assess the market. No doubt his counterparts will try to take advantage of the Oilers and demand a steep price for any available assets. If he is going to overpay, Holland has to find the best possible fit for his team. Whether Chiarot is the best fit depends on what other options might be out there.

Dude why are we getting rid of klef theres no reason to if he can play again then thats great he was a top 50 d-man when he was healthy and we would resign for cheap considering he has been injured the past 2 years
If he doesn't come back then he just reitres or his contract runs up theres no reason to move him

He’s not…. He’s getting him off the page, because he’s on the LTIR. I personally don’t think he comes back, as he is injured and has missed a lot. He is never healthy honestly, I like him, but I think after his contract, he will probably retire. It’s not a trade.
