Don’t think this OP watches the jets. Wheeler is as washed up as the Sahara desert. Should be on the 3rd or 4th line. Perfetti likely jumps into the top 6 and Morrissey looks to have regained form so that ARI trade doesn’t make a ton of sense. Dillon has been great for the jets. Literally the one trade that is semi-realistic is the DeMelo deal. I’d love to get a 2nd back for him. He’s likely the cap sacrifice this summer.

I've been hearing a lot about Wheeler. but would you rather give the 8 mil guy minutes hoping he would get his game back?

Buddy, no. It’s going to take so much more than perfetti, and scraps to get you chychrun and crouse… do you like PLD? Because he has to be in the trade

I think you’re underrating Perfetti. Kid played unreal in his small stint in the NHL, 0 points in 2 games but his hockey IQ is through the roof. He’ll be in the top 6 next year in Winnipeg. He’ll have 2 years of pro experience by the time hes 20. Arguably might be one of arizonas best forwards if they made this deal.

But jets wouldn’t make that deal anyways so likely doesn’t work for either team. Arizona is in a rebuild so im not sure why they’d want PLD.

Chychrun’s comps this year signed in the $9m range. He’s signed at $4.6 for 3 more years. Perfetti is your starting point, not the end

Yeah I’d rather see him play 3rd line and just commit to that role than hope and pray he gets his game back while he drags his line mates down. He’s awful. You should watch him play, it’s not a pleasant sight.

I don’t disagree. But I don’t think it works for either teams
Jets don’t need another LD although chychrun is great. Arizona likely would ask for Perfetti + Heinola and a pick. Big no no.

No there’s no fit to be made, especially in division. Arizona would be asking the world, Winnipeg would be stupid to meet the price

Also with bettman talking to the premiere of Quebec about the return of the nordiques, I think it’s coming sooner than you think. Arizona has no home past this year, I know they submitted the bid for Tempe. But if you look at this from a business perspective, there’s much more revenue to be made in Quebec over Arizona.

Nah I’m not worried. Franchise holders in Arizona are able to hold sports betting licenses, only way to get them is be a tribe or own a team, Meruelo is a big casino owner in Nevada, it’s his expansion into Arizona. The premier of Quebec was a stunt

Damn yeah I didn’t even know about the sports betting. I hope arizona can figure it out. I just am curious how it would go in Tempe. If they’re not bringing in enough money there will start to be complaints around the league. Owners want as much money coming in as possible.

There is actually a large hockey following out here. Enough to push Arizona state to D1 status, which costs a whole hell of a lot of money. Bringing them closer to the fan base and the money changes everything about the franchise honestly

Good. I’d like to see Arizona succeed. Hopefully they can get into Tempe and it goes well. The current location of the arena is just silly.

This team is pathetic, going nowhere with this coach, this forward group that's supposed to be so deep and high powered sure doesn't look threatening in the offensive zone all that often.

It’s all about how the lines are constructed. The jets were on fire early but Maurice changed the lines.

Idk, Copp is slowing down, Scheifele looks disinterested and it looks like Ehlers is playing through something, that trio hasn't looked like it's really been clicking since it's been together.

The Connor/PLD/Svech line was good but what do you do with Wheeler, I really don't think he works with Lowry and Lowry is an offensive black hole, still don't think it's ever going to work with such an offensively challenged 3C, unless Stastny can come back and really add something to the top 9 but idk, he's like 36, he isn't likely to have an overly big impact.

As for the 4th line well they got one tonight and I don't mind them but I'm not sure a Maurice coached team will ever have a 4th line that contributes much.

Wonder how long before 81/55/26 is reunited.. 😃

Its an election year for Legault so don't read much into that, plus the NHL's Bill Daly said "no meetings are planned about the Nordiques’ future"
