Description

If Vancouver does start a rebuild, I took a look back at Benning's trade history from 2014-15 rebuild and pulled some trades as comps.

My only big takeaways are: (a) he likes trading for size, (b) he likes acquiring former prospects on the cheap.

Note - none of these are happening, this is just for CF fun.

Note II - some of these comps aren't the best, if you have a better suggestion, add below I will try to add

Did Benning do the Lou trade? I thought that was Gillis.

Don't think the Miller/Demko/Pod trades are really comparable (Kesler and Lou wanted out) but I get the concept nonetheless

Mascherin is looking real good in the SHL. Could be a really good bottom 6 forward in the NHL.

Even if that is a comparable trade, why would LA want to do that? Doughty's return is imminent, Roy is the established 2RD, and the Kings have Durzi, Clague, and Strand all fighting over the 3RD spot. Next season, when Walker is back and Faber/Grans/Clarke are also potentially looking for spots, having a guy like Poolman under contract for 3 more years would just waste cap space and a roster spot.
