As a sharks fan I like it. Like the first and Lapierre, don’t know much about Johansen.

Is he any good? What’s his potential? I just don’t know much about him.

1st round pick that has had a ton of injury issues. optimistically he could be a 2nd pairing guy but realistically id say 5-6d or AHL guy

This doesn't make the Caps nearly better enough for the cost. Lapierre was a steal for where they got him in the draft it would be completely stupid to trade him for a rental.

"Lapierre was a steal" ? Zary you could argue is a better player and Capitals gave up a 3rd to pass up on him

I'm not a fan of this. I like Hertl as a player but I think you give up far too much for a rental on a team where they are yet to be at full strength. I would see Hertl slotting in on the 2nd line but I feel would take away any chance at meaningful playing time for McMichael. If Hertl came with term I wouldn't be as against it but I would hate to give up a steal and a 1st round pick (though LuJo can go, I've lost faith in him and I've been a huge supporter of him for years) for a player with only 1 year and likely no chance to resign in DC.

I would want to at least wait until everyone is back healthy and Backstrom has played a few games before considering a big move like this.

I'm also interested as to why you think Zary was a better pick then Lapierre. Aside from NHL games, as I don't think it means too much at the moment, I think Lapierre has far more potential than Zary and only slid due to injury concerns (Which does concern me, but as of now he's been fine in NHL play, even if its only a few games), and I've liked his style of play, so I'm interested on what your take is.

Lappy has a ton a skill but Zary imo has a better shot and he looks better in transition. He seems to be able to receive passes effortlessly hard to explain I think both of those things would help him transition into the NHL better. WJ he was also selected over Lappy. I just find it funny that people refer to Lappy as a "steal" guys like Mercer or Lundell imo would be considered steals

Edit"
Where do you see him slotting in? Imo ive been far more impressed with McM Leason (older) and Prota. Centers are backy kuzy eller mcmichael dowd..?
