We just signed Coleman won't be trading him
That right side is SOOO much worse
Monahan hasn't been worth that for a while
Markstrom is having a Veznia caliber season would probably need more but Dallas declines either way so that doesn't happen
Mangiapane gets about $1.5- $2 mill more

Oetter is younger, cheaper, and has a better save percentage. Why exactly does Dallas do this???

Because the Stars players are starting to get old or are in their prime or they are young and able to make an impact to an NHL roster and Markstrom can help with goaltending and possibly make a run in the regular season or in the playoffs.

Rangers pass. We cannot take on Coleman's contract/cap hit.

Right this would make sense if Markstrom was an upgrade. He isn’t tho…..

But the Stars aren't trading Khudobin or Holtby here...they're trading Oettinger. The Stars DOWNGRADE at goalie by losing Oettinger in this trade AND they are also giving up a 2nd Round Pick? Quick decline from the Stars.

Rangers pass with flying colours. Coleman is an overpaid contract and krav is a top 6 and killing it in the KHL.

How am I the Bozo? Lol. You’re saying Markstrom is an upgrade on Holts and Dobby. That is correct. But you aren’t trading him for Holts or Dobby. You’re trading him for our talented young goaltender that’s already better than Markstrom… so it is NOT an upgrade. Mooterus explained this very well above. If it was Holts or Dobby and a pick this trade would make sense. You aren’t getting a younger, better, cheaper, cost controlled goalie AND a pick for a 31 year old six million dollar a year guy. Just makes zero sense for the Stars

It is an upgrade though Markstrom is better then Oettinger right now and sure I should have put like Khudobin in the trade as well but that is fine.
