Dude you comment on all my sharks posts with **** like this. It's trolling. Get a life.

Not to mention your a Sabres fan. The worst team of the last 2 decades and it clearly is only getting worse. I feel for you man. Tough life being a fan of by far one of the very worst teams in NHL history.

Barabanov has 17 points in 24 games as a Shark. He makes elite level plays and fits great in our top six.

Just because my team is bad, doesn't mean your team isn't.

I would not give hertl that contract. Gotta rebuild not keep making the same mistakes over and over.

Just because you don't want to hear it, doesn't make it trolling.

I just think that sharks should save money and trade to get more draft capital, so they should trade hertl

The thing with meier is his QO 10m so I feel he will become a FA, unless he play like a 10m player (I don’t think) so I think that they should trade him before he leaves because he’s asking too much and I’m pretty sure meier would get you 2 1st with a decent prospect

lol I did that exact Kravtsov for Labanc 1 for 1 in a NHL 22 franchise mode. Plus I even sent Simek packing to Seattle

Rangers decline because Labanc isnt good, checks none of the boxes, and his contract is terrible.

True would be good to have in the org. AHL needs vets too and true can still put up points.

tearing down and rebuilding isn't a great way to build a team. you of all people should know this your going through your what 4th or 5th full tear down and rebuild with nothing to show for all the wasted time and effort.
sharks have solid pieces to work with and the team is playing well but missing a few pieces to be playoff contenders. i would prefer to focus on removing's Simek Labanc Vlasic and Kane and trying to replenish our lineup with the young prospects we have and add a top 6 winger somehow.

Raska a player Sharks should not trade. He’s what this team will need in their bottom 6 to win a cup.

Since getting sent down he has really struggled. 0 points in ten games. If he can't score in the AHL his ceiling in the NHL is 4th line pest if he ever gets back. His training camp was a flash in the pan. We have much better options than raska in the AHL.

very true!!!
Raska, Leonard, Kellman, Chmevelski, and Blichfeld are all getting passed up sooner than later. Gregor is in his last window now and he’s trying but i don’t know his long term potential, Pederson Merkley and Gadjovich are all gone most likely next year.
with Eklund, Coe, Bordeleau, Robins, Weisblatt, Gushin, and Reedy there just isn’t space in the AHL/NHL cabinet for those guys much longer. not to mention the players from this years upcoming draft.

I didn't say tearing down. But handing out another big contract thru age 35 isn't it

Build around Eklund etc as every one else ages out

you have to keep the guys you need and figure out the guys you can’t replace. we can’t replace Hertl so we pay to keep him. it’s that simple. the wings and 3/4 C positions we have plenty of prospect talent to push the other guys out so you keep those deals shorter or let them walk.
on D we don’t have a top line D prospect so we keep Burns and Karlsson (like we could trade them anyways) and resign Ferraro.
as for Middleton and Knyzhov we have 3-4 guys who could push them so keep their deals under 3 years, and low AAV or trade them. we don’t need another Simek issue.

I just disagree. It's 5 guys taking up half the cap. Oh well, i guess we will know soon enough

ok… that’s similar to a lot of teams in the NHL just look at next year
Tor 4-40.4, EDM 5-40.87 NYR 5-44.14 TBL 5-44.85 WSH- 6-45.9
VGK 5-41.2

this is not abnormal to pay the top 5-6 of your roster 50% or more of the cap.
sharks issues are 2-3 of our top paid are no longer top players in the league or on our own team.
if Kane can mend the fences and play like he was last year, couture Karlsson and Burns continue to step it up like they have then only 1 of our higher paid is under preforming (vlasic) and his deal was dumb at the time but it was paying him back for over a decade of undervalued contracts to help the team.

What are the ages and contributions of most of those players? Exactly.

you argued the player and salary, all i’m doing is showing you that it’s normal to have your top 5-6 players equal 50% of the CAP
and Couture is playing at an elite level this year and Burns and Karlsson are playing very well. Kane is MIA obviously and Vlassic sucks, but you can’t win every deal.

I have a question about Barabanov. Is he playing well because he is on the line with Hertl so his stats are a bit inflated or could he possibly hold his own and be worth that kind of money in the contract extension proposal? I want to also mention that he's dirt cheap right now and if the Sharks decide to sell during the trade deadline, he could easily be traded to a playoff contender cause his cap hit isn't much and he seems to be on a high note right now. Just an idea cause he could fetch us some picks too.

I'm a bit on the fence. If Hertl doesn't want to re-sign by the trade deadline, try to get something before it's too late when he becomes an UFA. I also think if the Sharks wait until the offseason, Hertl might only be worth a low draft pick cause it's just his signing rights before being an UFA.

I also think that if Hertl is gone, Barabanov may be worth trying to trade as well. Obviously, a massive hole will be left in the lineup and I'm not certain we have replacements ready for that besides looking into free agency.

Barabanov has been nothing short of impressive and yeah some of it is having an elite center in Hertl but even when Hertl hasn't been hot Barby has been impressive. He's been strong on the boards, forecheck and he takes hits to make plays.

In terms of selling our players currently we have more ROW than anytime in the west not named Minnesota or Edmonton and have beaten good teams as well (Minnesota, Carolina, Toronto and Winnipeg) We're pretty good and it isn't just puck luck, we're winning tight games, grinding other teams down. In fact if The SHarks maybe became buyers for another top six RW then I have no issue calling SJ a playoff team particularly with the excellent goaltending we have gotten.

With the org committed to keeping Kane away from the big club this pleases a lot of guys especially Hertl. I would not be surprised if Tommy re-signs in SJ particularly with Eklund coming back next year and the addition of one of Coe (leads the OHL in points), Robins (top 5 in WHL points) or Bordeleau.

We're not in a position to rebuild proper with our contracts and NMC's. We need to try to compete and we are doing just that. Karlsson is looking like his old self, Burns is bouncing back, Timo is on absolute fire as he's 5th in the league in points per 60, Couture is bouncing back as well. Everyone is being proven wrong by this team and there's no sign of the Sharks slowing down.
