Chiarot has been a good defender this season lol, one of the bright spots on this MTL team.

no, he hasnt, he's actually been worse than he has been in a long while and that's saying something.
The only thing hes doing "better" is having an 11% shooting percentage instead of his career average of 3-4%

He’s a good second pair guy honestly and is effective come playoff time. He gets a lot of heat in Montreal but it’s not his fault the way the coaches use him. Could look good next to Bouchard

i mean, no he's not. He gets destroyed defensively and has been for a while. He's not good at all in anything but a sheltered bottom pairing role and he was certainly not effective in the playoffs at all. He was carried by Price and Danault and to a lesser degree others. Sure, coaches playing him way too much for whatever old school reasons doesnt help, but he's just not good. Which is why it's going to be hilarious when some GM pays way way way too much to make their defence worse this deadline

Just my opinion and I’ll respect yours. I think he’s good enough to be a top 4 defenceman but not on the top pair or pp. But I have to agree a first is an overpayment, but for some reason defenceman like him are valued highly among gms. Savard last year for example

i mean, Holland isnt a good GM so him paying a 1st for a bad defender after he traded for keith and signed Ceci and Barrie makes 100% sense, but hockey wise it's a bad move and will only make the oilers worse, the last thing they need is defenders who are slow and cannot defend

Savard got a 1st last year and he sucks. So GM's make mistakes all the time. Could Chiarot get a 1st? Sure. Is Chiarot worth a 1st? Nope, not even close.

It's crazy how a good player is suddenly bad when the team is bad. Usually good players are still good when that happens. Maybe your guy is just bad and was saved by incredible goaltending and one of the better defensive forwards in the league.
