well for one, Sergachev isnt an average top 4 defender.
for two, by his 20 year old season, Kane had 2 games shy of 2 full seasons played, 46 goals and over 140 points to Zegras' less than 25 games and 40 points so pump those breaks
and for three, it was about the value of the comparisons, again. IE not only was the comparison of the trade values hilariously different, the comparison of Zegras to Matthews was even funnier

Sergachev is an average top 4 dman and he’s sanding closest comparable

No, sergachev is a good top pairing guy on a deep defence, and hes sandins closest comparable

Sergachev is not a good top paring guy in fact his numbers have gotten worse every year since his rookie season

No way you think the Zegras trade is bad for the Leafs
Most biased person on this site

It's increasingly sad how you just cannot stop yourself from taking swipes at me for no reason.
But yes, two firsts, a 21 year old developing into a 2 way top pairing guy a middle six forward and a 3rd is too much for zegras, especially from the leafs.

Sandin projects to be an average top 4 dman comparable to sergachev, Zegras projects to be somewhere near Patrick Kane level….

LOL slow down a bit there dude.

Depends on the team...and how much $ is retained. Assuming 50% retained, maybe 2nd/3rd and/or prospect. Maybe a decent change-of-scenary roster player who could potentially help Devils in short term.

I agree, a second or 3rd round pick for Subban 50% retained is probably not too far off.

But if you're the Toronto Maple Leafs, there's a huge difference between that and Timothy Liljgeren...

I have never been that high on Liljegren. I feel like his ceiling has been shrinking for a while, since his D-1 U18 showing.
I would have thought Liljegren now = about a 2nd.
But I know he has looked better this year and I have only seen glimpses. So maybe I'm off.

That's fair, he's taken longer than expected to come into the nhl. To a team like New Jersey his value might be a second round pick.

But here's the thing: he's been a pretty good 3rd pairing defenseman this season, and I think he has the potential to be a second pairing defenseman. That's more valuable to the leafs than a second round pick.

And Zegras is a 20 year old Calder favorite and is one of the best young forwards in the league
I keep coming at you because you have terrible takes and have so much biased for the Leafs

Zegras is a good young player, but hes not worth near that price. pretty much no young players are worth that much when they've played just 35 games in the league at 20 years old.
and you keep coming at me because you're still mad i said your teams players arnt as good as you think they are

This'll be the first and last time I ask the two of you to put each other on your ignore lists.

@Devil1122, he's not wrong. Zegras isn't worth that at the moment and your insistence on JaredOfLondon having nothing but bad takes and biased opinions is only making this worse. So what if he does? You cannot earn the right to troll others because you think they're wrong. 16 thousand posts and you wanna stoop to this kind of malarkey? You're better than that.

@JaredOfLondon you don't need the second comment in there: you're just dumping fuel on the fire and looking to provoke further fights, of which you seem to get into a lot of with other users. I'm fine with you defending your opinions but at a certain point you need to just get along with others.

God almighty please both of you just grow up or take your enemies-to-lovers plotline somewhere else. Thanks.
