I had a different question regarding the UFA bidding process;
What if you have one spot on your roster that you really need to fill through free agency, so you put in multiple bids on different players (first choice, plus 'safety' players), but you end up winning the bid on two or more when you only needed the one? Do you have the option to decline a signing if yours is the winning bid in that case?
What about this question? Do we have the option to pass on a signing if we win a bid on a player?
I'm not 100% certain. The plan was to have home teams state whether they intended to re-sign a player before bidding started... but I'm not sure on policy when the non rights-holding teams want to withdraw a bid depending on scenarios. As someone who hopes to be more active in free agency that initially anticipated I wonder about this too. This will definitely be discussed by the board.

I think we've mostly decided the rules for free agency. not sure though.
And we're not allowed to even hold conversations on team threads? Not regarding negotiating trades but maybe players on other teams.
For example, if I wanted to ask Zach his thoughts on a player on Buffalo
What player did you want my thoughts on? I can almost guarantee you that I'll say he's not good enough, get it? Because it's the the Sabres LOL.
We will allow this in the Boca raton thread, but no accepting deals or agreeing to make them official later. You can talk value of players, and what it could take to get them and such but don't get into negotiations because you'll want to make the deal then lol
Just a thought, each year is the value of one million dollars. Say Dallas offers Oshie 6 years, 6 million per. Carolina doesn't want to give six years, so they offer 5 years, 7 million per. Well, actually, they couldn't do that because these deals would be "equivalent". So they would have to offer 5 years, 7.25 million. That might be too confusing.

So we should try and figure this out.
Or do it by total money offered so 5x5mil = 25 mil better than 4×5.25

ok, i think we have a solution, what does everyone else think? I, myself, like this idea but i am not the main rule-maker anymore, so i have to wait and see what others want.

I think BoG will come up with a plan for it so dont stress over it.

it's a good thought, when we get to free agency this will be a key part of the discussion since AAV compared to years offered can be two completely different animals. Also, rangersfan please read what I've replied to you in. Remember that finalizing decisions is a matter strictly in the hands of the Board of GMs now.

i know, i was just saying we need to figure this out.
Should I make a separate thread for my expansion picks or what? Also, can of the BOGs make a ruling in the thread with Nashville and then with Rangers.

Can you just tell me if you are interested in making an expansion trade or not?

Rangers I'm going to make a thread called "Short Conversation". we need to have a conversation about what's working and what's not, and how you can be a better board member.
