Quick explination:
was think maybe the swap for the following year during Jarry contract year so that resigning conditions can be attached. Was thinking something like:

If jarry resigns then they get the 1st and edm takes the 2nd but if he doesn't, pitsburgh gets a the oilers 2nd and keeps their 2nd. I think that some teams had abnormally bad years that are allowing the pens to do relatively well but, I feel that the decline is coming and burke would not like to pull a rebuild so, this move would help with creating the foundational blocks for a quick re-tool to prevents a full blown rebuild down the line.

Overpayment by Oilers. Jarry is fine but not worth a top.prospect and a 1st, along with another player. Oilers could get a much better goalie with this package.

Oh I know I am just starting high and adjusting little by little. I just think that the best REALISTIC target for the oilers to acquire would be Jarry. FA and goalie markets are muy thin

That's a no for Pittsburgh. His bounce back season under the new goalie coach is a big reason our season is going this well.

in the offseason, this would be a potential move. if he falls to his normal numbers through the rest of season and pitsburgh is out in round 1 again, I could see them moving on from him to go bigger fish hunting in FA to make one last legit push with this core. Jarry at his usual self isn't the guy that would give them the cup. Someone like Cambell and then sign fleury forvery cheap would make a deadly tandem. more so then having Jarry. plus you get some sweet assets that can either be a part of the revamped pens or part of rental packages for the last big push. Also remember edmonton would have to resign him

Even if that does come to fruition, why would Edmonton trade away a top prospect and a pick for Jarry when they could just go shopping in the FA market?

fairpoint. I just worry that we wont be able to afford a jack Campbell and get a top6 RW in FA. Jarry is a cost effective option that we need to look at cause kenny love keith kassian and barrier at their numbers

But that is the exact reason Pittsburgh can't do that trade. We have only 4 forwards signed for next season. Our UFA and RFA list includes just about everyone other than Crosby, Guentzel, Blueger and McGinn. Letang Malkin Rust Rodrigues and Kapanen are going to cost us a pretty penny. I think they would rather keep Jarry and bring in a veteran back up, even though this return is good.
