Trade Deadline

Created by: Duggysdanglers
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 28, 2021
Published: Dec. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What can Detroit get for these guys?

This mock is if they fall out of the playoffs. Their point % would have them out of the playoffs right now.
Is a first round pick for Leddy too steep? I figure taking Hagelin back should be worth a third as well.
Not sure if they can offload Greisse which is too bad.

Not sure where they can offload him honestly.

Unless Stecher comes back and plays very well I'm not sure he's tradable. I don't see him on the Wings next year, he will probably head out west sign with Vancouver or Calgary.

avs goalies are healthy, no need for a 3rd goalie in Greiss

I think someone will take Greiss, even if he’ll be the 3rd goalie. Goaltender depth can’t hurt if you’re going to make a deep run. Look at MTL/TB tonight, depth goalies playing due to covid.

Playoff teams are under pressure. Madison Bowey and Freddy Andersen Mercury. Vanilla Greiss. Greiss Greiss maybe. Word to Eric Lindros' mother.

I don’t think Leddy is worth a 1st but I also don’t think they trade him for anything less. I’d be content resigning him for 2/3 years as a reliable 2nd pairing guy

I wouldn't trade anyone for less than a 2nd. It's not worth it to mess up the chemistry of the team.

If they could get a 2nd for a guy playing bottom 6 min like Namestikov then I’d jump all over that but I doubt anyone would overpay that much. But for a 3rd, I agree, team chemistry is underrated, as is Namestikovs love for playing here. A 3rd wouldn’t be all that worth it

People forgetting what happened to the Avs goalies in recent playoffs... So yeah I'd do Greiss for a 5th.

There are always decent veterans that get first round picks at the deadline, and Leddy fits the mould.
Last year we had Foligno, Savard and Zajac/Palmieri.
Year before that it was Skjei, Goodrow, Pageau, Kase and Coleman.
Year before that it was Hayes, Montour and Muzzin.

A reliable second pairing guy, to a contender gets a first because that first is in the 20s. WIth the right partner Leddy, especially at 50% retention gets a first maybe more.
