Ottawa says "Thank you, Come again."

Tierney's trade value with 50% retention is either:

1. A low 2nd round pick

or

2. A 3rd and a 5th, like in the Eric Staal trade between Montreal and Buffalo

I hope this helps cheers

Minnesota doesn't need anymore bottom c and won't be paying a 2nd round pick for one. He's not better than nico sturm

Thanks for the comparable. Wild have their own and San Jose's 5th rounders so 3rd and 5th makes maybe little more sense.

Yes 3rd and a 5th is more reasonable. I was playing it safe to not underpay. I saw a thread where Wild fans were talking about acquiring a 3c for playoffs since they are not in the position to acquire a top6 center.

Easily take this right now, the money sin;t wasted this year for another 2nd rounder that the Sens can bundle to get another top 10 pick poteinally.

I think it’s funny how Wild fans don’t really want to give up the proper assets for Hertl but will pay a 2nd for Tierney.

The person who made this proposal isn't a wild fan, so don't say wild fans ! Every wild fans want Tomas, but at a reasonable price like teams usually pay for rentals, not what San Jose fans are rating him @

Take a look at my threads. I'm ready to give assets for Hertl, but I get attacked for it.

Not really willing to pay a 2nd rounder for Tierney now that his value was clarified by sensonfire. Unless there is a bidding war were Wild has to have the best offer to acquire him.

Wild will never ever be involved in a bidding war! Just like they pulled out of eichel's trade, just like they pulled our of nick foligno's trade. Our gm doesn't make unnecessary, dumb trades like leafs gm

Fair enough, but to be fair the rental market for centers is very slim what I've looked at it. So if they want to add one for the playoffs it's probably going to be a bidding war. Plus a bidding war for a guy like Tierney isn't really the same as for Eichel, much less to lose.

I would go for Paul instead of Tierney, especially for a 2nd

For sure, but I believe he's going to get extended.

Evolution of Tierney's value :

Summer 2019 : 2nd ++
Summer 2020 : 2nd +
Summer 2021 : 3rd
Winter 2021 : 5th?

Don't you just love Pierre Dorion's asset management?!?!?!?!

Maybe retention improves the pick to a 4th? It's at the deadline so the retention is a lot less than 1.75 in real money
