Severson really hasn't been good for New Jersey the past couple of seasons, Jett Woo alone gets that trade done, and Rutherford literally just said he won't be trading any high draft picks right now

Devils pass.
Jet Woo and a 2nd gets PK Subban.
Would take a lot more for Severson.

Ah yes. An unproven 21 year old dman who hasn’t played a single nhl game is worth the same as a proven nhl dman that has played over 500 nhl games. Yes, you are 100% correct😆😂

Could make sense if it were a solid defensive prospect, but I don’t think Canucks have that guy in their pool.

Jett Woo IS a solid defensive prospect even if he isn't proven yet. Saying that Jett Woo has no value is like saying Alexander Holtz or Shakir Mukhamadulin don't carry significant value as prospects alone. Not saying Woo is as valuable as those two guys, but you get the idea, and like I said, I really haven't liked what I've seen from Severson the past season or so, and I don't think the Canucks would give up very much to get him if he was on the market

Jett Woo is probably closer to a Case McCarthy. The Devils have a lot of young d-men prospects…many with upside, but unproven. Don’t really need to add another. Devils could use a finishing winger or a young defensive d-man who can play now. Not sure there is a fit here.

I agree, there probably isn't a fit here, as Woo is likely at least another year away from being NHL ready

Of course you do, but how will Canucks fans feel about it?

Not as light as most people think. Tyler Myers has been playing very well as of late, and some of our depth guys like Tucker Poolman, Luke Schenn, and Kyle Burroughs have really stepped up. We have Travis Hamonic there as well but he got hurt after taking a hit from Marchand so he's probably still at least a week away from returning. Adding more talent to their right side of defense is definitely a priority for the Canucks, but I really don't think Severson is the answer, and like I said, I don't see the Canucks offering all that much for him. As for Subban, I'm not sure he's playing that far above replacement level, so I really don't see the Canucks being interested in him let alone Severson

Past couple of seasons? The guy has the 5th worst career +/- of all active players (-122)! He can't defend. VAN should not give up any assets to acquire Severson.

Hamonic, Schenn and Poolman are all better players than Severson.

Gotcha. Sounds like you're better off then i realized.
Severson has become somewhat of an on ice general out there. Always talking to the players, i think the coaches value him more than fans do. If hes interested in staying past his contract next yr thry resign him, but if not, youngish #2 rhd with not alot of mikes on him will have value.
PK is a playoff filler for depth and some O from the back. Hes not the Montreal PK, but his game has hot better as his tenure has gone on here. At 50% off and mayve third team eating half of that he will have some interest at the tdl
Keep up the good run you're on!
