Initial Creation Date: Jan. 5, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Crouse provides support in case of injury in the top 6. Big power forward that could step in on AM or JT line if Bunting/Kerfoot are hurt or underperforming. In the meantime, the bottom 6 has a defensive specialist line (Kampf) and a bruising offensive line (Crouse-Spezza-Simmonds). Holl has been bad, so a D pair of Muzzin and Manson could be a very physical, defensive pairing. Dermott and Liljegren battle for the 6th D spot, and Ritchie and Engvall are put on taxi squad to use up the remaining cap. Not ideal to run with one scratch, but once playoffs hit cap doesn't matter so they could call up anyone. In regular season, if a D gets hurt, Dermott comes in. If a F gets hurt, Liljegren is waiver exempt so he gets sent down, Dermott steps in, and they'd now have enough cap to call up a forward. Get to add two key pieces while only losing one underperforming roster player, and get to keep Mrazek as a good option if Campbell were to get hurt. Ideally leafs would also acquire some depth D on waivers or via minor league trades to have some more depth there.

Arizona isnt moving Crouse for so little, and Anaheim isnt going to be a seller at the deadline. Good luck getting anything more than a sixth back for Holl as well

Crouse is so ridiculously overrated on this site. He's bad defensively and his offence is inflated due to being a main guy on the worst team in hockey. Engvall is more useful than Crouse.

Lawson Crouse at 5v5 this season Scoring chances for vs against 169/154 52.32% High Danger chances for/against 68/60 53.13% - so he's actually quite a positive defensive player on a historically bad team. He's also 6th on the team in PP ice time so he's not getting massive special teams run to "inflate" his offense. He's a terrific burgeoning power forward that if he played with a real center would have even better numbers.

Idk maybe watch a Coyotes game and do a little research before talking down on a player smile

He's nothing special. I have no interest in him at all.

Now, I don't think Crouse makes much difference to the Leafs who seem to plenty of wingers. But Arizona doesn't do that trade. But why would the Ducks in a playoff race, trade a Dman, without one in return. Doubt due to Covid restrictions, Manson waives his M NTC to Canada.
Hardly loading up for the Leafs as stated, Crouse on fourth line over Engvall, and really Manson is he really that much of an improvement over the Holl?

VAN decline, they don't need Holl.
