You could add a first (except maybe a top-2 pick in this year's draft) to that Florida trade and Bill Zito would still decline.

You forgot to make the Carolina/Montreal first-round-pick switch the Canadiens will receive this year.

How did manage to get 26m in cap space? By dumping caps (and some long term) and expecting just picks in return just isn't practical Not one of those trades is get done.
