I can't see Arizona doing this at all. No first round pick, AND it's not in THIS years draft? If Arizona agreed to this, they deserve to be moved and stripped of everyone in management

Wishful thinking trades. Not remotely realistic.

????? Two big NOs in these trades. Calgary trading their young goalie Vladar for the aging NHLer Hutchinson? Carolina trading the competent Martinbrook for Ritchie.
Not sure how it really benefits the Leafs this year....trading two NHL Dmen for one, and trading the good Kerfoot without getting a good LW/centre in return.
Then even with 3.9 in cap space.....weaken the defence by trading Holl for nothing to help now.

If you were in Arizona's position, would you consider this trade even for a moment?

Didn't think so.

They are saying an Ehicle like return but I do not see that. I think a 2nd round pick and 2 players in the line up now which balances out the contract, one of which is a D-man to fill the hole (will not fill completely) and the other a forward that can slip up or down and can be flipped if desired. Flipping Kerfoot could fetch another 2nd rounder or more. And i think the 2nd rounder next year will be better, they already have 5 2nd rounders this year to go with 3 first rounders. Yotes are going be hard pressed in a couple years with a lot young players looking for contracts

No one wants Ritchie, and to dump him, it would cost a first round pick. Canes aren’t moving Martinook, as he has been a valuable leader in the locker room. That Chychrun trade is probably the worst proposal yet that I have seen. The only semi valuable piece in that trade is Amirov. Calgary doesn’t consider that without at the very least a first rounder attached. If the Leafs were able to do this, I would sing their praises, but in reality, the only thing the will be hearing is the slamming of a phone.

Canes pass hard unless your coughing up a 1st or Amirov to take on that awful Ritchie deal.
