Why would a 1st be the difference between a garbage dman and another garbage dman

The Flyers were dumb enough to trade a 1st for Risto and are paying for it. Its unlikely another team will follow in their footsteps.

Beyond that, he's a terrible fit for Toronto. He's worse on the defensive end of the puck than Holl, whom the Leafs are looking for an upgrade on. Risto wouid only have a slim chance of fetching this kind of price from a team that could use him offensively which isn't the Leafs.

Because Risto is an upgrade over Holl at almost even money for this year and it allows Toronto to move 2mil off of next season’s payroll.

I think you’re giving NHL GMs too much credit.

And you are giving the Flyers GM too much credit, whom we've already seen doesn't deserve it.

I’d do the Konecny trade in a heartbeat. Would be a great addition for Ottawa, always nice to bring a 67 back to Ottawa.

Not sure Philly would be jumping at the offer tho.

He's already been on the record as not a fan of Risto's game. So ya, he does.

Yeah, that trade would be contingent on everything else falling into place. But it would be too much to ask for a 1st from Ottawa right now.

We might offer a prospect that used to be a 1st round pick instead though.

        Depends on who it is.

A third is way too much for the brass bollard, and the Avs have been there and done that. No thanks.

I'd pay as much as Erik Brannstrom + 2nd + 3rd for Konecny
