I keep seeing this trade involving Schmidt, Bealieu and a 2nd for Severson. I feel like that’s woefully inadequate. There’s gotta be at least three better offers for him out there. What gives?

I want at least a 1st for him

Schmidt is the replacement, the 2nd and Vesalainen are the futures, and Beaulieu is because I want him off my team.
Beaulieu isn’t necessary, I just add him in to get rid of him because I hate seeing his name on the roster….lol
The trade was the result of a discussion on another post that seemed fair value
Personally, if it was haggled out and it came down to it, I’d likely be willing to change the 2nd to a 1st if NJ added a mid pick

Don't see that as a package that'd interest NJ.

I knew those Schmidt and Dillon trades were problems from day one, should've traded for Buchnevich instead, graduated Heinola and signed Ryan Murray.

Montreal is looking for a 1st + 2nd min for Toffoli Chisholm would equal the 2nd so still missing a 1st

Dillon would be ok if we didn’t have Heinola and Samberg looking to move up, but as we do, he’s just a blocker now.
Schmidt was a bone headed trade by Chevy from day 1… no idea why he did this trade

Seems like Chevy tried for Schmidt first but he declined so Chev moved on to Dillon then Schmidt changed his mind a day or two later so he decided why not and acquired Schmidt too.

I knew both those guys would help but really didn't think both were necessary, one maybe but not both.

Funny that this could've all been avoided if Chevy just gives Chiarot the third year he wanted and trusted in some of the D prospects they drafted.

It looks like a bit much for the Severson trade, but close, not enough for Tafolli and the third trade is a completely unnecessary lateral move for the Jets.

I don't think Schmidt waives his no trade to go to NJ. Not saying shouldn't try and deal him but I think he'd prefer a different organization if Jets were dead set on moving him.

Well, he can only name 10 teams… that leaves 22
