I'd do Zadina and a third round pick in a heartbeat for Hague so maybe that shows this trade is pretty fair for both sides.

Trading away the 2nd round pick depends on how deep the Wing's scouts think the draft class is & if they are eyeing someone with that pick.
Since they are hopefully at the end of the rebuild it might make sense to trade away a high pick who probably won't play in the NHL for about 3 years for a position they need now.
Vrana coming back from LTIR will need a top 6 guy to move down or get traded as well.
Vegas gets a solid low cost middle six forward who maybe would produce more points with a change of scenery/coaching.

Interesting trade proposal. Unless I'm missing something I think it's fair for both teams.

Or Yzerman could drop an offer sheet and get Hague for just the 2nd.

I think the trade is closer to a 1 for 1. I’m personally not ready to give up on Zadina - look at Rasmussen taking some time to find his game and role in Detroit. Zadina has just been snake bitten. But I’m also a huge Hague fan too and wouldn’t object to picking him up to round out the top 4D for years to come.

I was thinking the same thing a 2nd is too much but I don't think even with a later pick Yzerman pull the trigger. Zadina really is playing well at both ends of the ice.

1. Zadina isn’t a top six forward.
2. I still think Detroit holds onto him.

Detroit declines and it's not even close. We're not giving up on Zadina.
