Not Kane

Created by: joek
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 11, 2022
Published: Jan. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lavoie is one of our top prospects, and also from QC so Montreal would potentially prefer him over other prospects. Allen did win a cup with St Louis in 2019 and hasn't had bad stats since, would be a good starter for the oilers with help from Smith and Skinner where needed.

Run out Koskinen's contract in the minors till the end of the season.

Focussing some skill and checking capabilities on the 3rd line should improve that a bit, remaining question is if Perlini can play a sniper role alongside McDavid, it not that could be a rotational seat.

EDM TOP Prospect :
- Evan Bouchard
- Dylan Holloway
- Philip Broberg
- Xavier Bourgault

After Tier 2 for EDM :
- Carter Savoie
- Raphael Lavoie
- Tyler Tullio
- Dmitri Samorukov

So no, Lavoie isn’t a top prospect but a decent one

I wouldn’t mind Allen vs Lavoie & a mid round pick

Mostly agree, but:
* Bouchard is probably no longer considered a prospect, he's in the NHL team.
* I have this thought that maybe Carter Savoie might be in that top tier, his brother is due to go in top 3 in this coming draft, one might hope they have similar potential.

Sure, throw in some picks Sticking Out Tongue

Lavoie is not a top propsect. And the fact that hes French makes no impact. I would trade for him for more than a 4th round pick. I saw him a dozen times in Halifax. He’s a bust

He’s got skill and that helped in juniors but it won’t translate. He always looks lost and confused…I don’t know how really else to explain it.

Why give up a decent prospect just to complicate the roster with a 3 goalie tandem?

Smith might get injured (again/a lot) and Skinner isn't a high cap hit, you could easily say skinner will go back to AHL, either works 🤷‍♂️

Next year skinner can’t go to the ahl he isn’t waiver exempt so while all are healthy they all need to be on the roster together. I personally don’t like the idea of 3 goalies for an entire season.

Could always go the Spezza route with Smith. He'll retire if claimed on waivers. wink
Gives you flexibility to shuffle him around and keep him healthy and fresh until after the TDL.

Could you imagine Montreal deals for Carter Savoie and then go draft Matthew?
