The 2nd and 3rd lines are brutal. This isn't a playoff team.

No more brutal than the ones that took the Isles to the Conference Finals two years straight. Probably better. The team is built off of defense and goaltending and this would be the strongest we have been in both those categories in my lifetime.

That is not true..Beauvillier was the main driver of the 2nd line the past two years, his speed and transition ability is one of the main reasons why the isles were successful in the playoffs - without him Nelson/Bailey's numbers were brutal. It's not surprising an isles fan wants to dump Beauvillier , , im sure you were in favor of trading toews for scraps and letting Eberle go for nothing.

The middle 6 you have here does not have 1 player who can enter the offensive zone with possession. Bellows is a solid middle 6 W, but he needs a strong play driver on his line to be successful. Palmieri is awful and Bailey is cooked. Maroon will be 34 next year and is more suited for a 4th line role.

I don't think you understand this isles team needs forwards who can drive offense with speed and maintain possession in the offensive zone to be successful. Bellows-Nelson-Palmieri and Maroon-Pageau-Bailey would spend more than 75% of their ice time hemmed in the defensive zone.

differences between last year and this lineup:

Eberle becomes Wahsltrom - a wash at the worst, likely an upgrade
Beau becomes Bellows - maybe a win for beau, but we haven't really ever seen him put it together for a full season. Could end up being a wash
MDC becomes Maroon - if you hate that, make it athensiao or someone, but CLEAR upgrade
Martin becomes Parise - CLEAR upgrade
Clutterbuck becomes Czarnik - CLEAR upgrade
.....
Leddy becomes Girard - CLEAR upgrade
Mayfield becomes Zadorov - wash
Greene becomes Salo - wash with upside
Dobson then vs Dobson now - CLEAR upgrade
Sorokin then vs Sorokin now - CLEAR upgrade

Btw, was not in favor of losing either of those players. no need to be a condescending asshole, we don't know each other and are apparently on the same side

BTW, bringing up Beau's playoffs last year while not bringing up his current season and then bringing up Palmieri's current season without bringing up his playoffs last year shows you don't even care about what you're saying - just cherry picking the facts that help make your point of view not look unhinged. Palmieri's underlying metrics are fine. He was snakebitten and now is injured, doesn't look like a liability out there. Hate to break it to you but Beau is not the player standing between this team making the playoffs or not

Yeah lets bring up Palmieri's playoffs, where he was invisible in the Tampa series and cost the isles in game 7 with his lazy play on the PP. This is Palmieri's 2nd season being "snakebitten" , he's just not good anymore.

If you want to talk Beau and underlying metrics, you won't win here. He has been one of the best forwards on the isles over the last 3 years, he's a two way beast.

First Girard trade offer on here I think I've seen that the Avs would likely accept.
