Karlsson will only be available if a select few defensemen are involved. I haven't had the chance to determine which names thos players are, but I'm pretty sure Goligoski or Girardi don't qualify.

Ekblad: Not particularly interested in him. Not that there's anything wrong with him, I'm just picky.

Goligoski: No thanks. Too much of a downgrade and age difference from Karlsson.

Skjei: As I said, not enough of a track record. Too much of a risk for a Karlsson trade.

Spurgeon: I see him more as a compliment to a #1 or a 2nd pairing guy. He has skill, but lacks the size to be a true #1 himself (Imo).

It would take along the lines of Josi, Subban, Hamilton, Hedman, etc. to start a negotiation.

Some elite young standouts could be considered as a starter as well, but Parayko is the only player that comes to mind, but let me know if you have someone worth checking out with at least a couple of seasons under their belt.

Similar age or younger. Nobody is going to match Karlsson offensively, but they have to have some offensive acumen and be at least decent or better defensively or more well rounded.
Looking for at least a number 1 or on the way to being a number 1.

Karlsson is a higher commodity than JT and I'm not particularly interested in JT at this time.
