Also for Goodrow, he was on a 2 year deal as a depth player. Crouse is a pending RFA middle 6 player

I like Crouse to Toronto. I think Ghost, as much as I liked him in Philly, is not your Shattenkirk. Shattenkirk was a RHD too. I would explore Braun as an option, maybe even Subban?

The way I look at it Gostisbehere >> Dermott, so that's an improvement. Plus, I'd rather pay an offensive defensemen 2.5 mil to put up points and have a few defensive breakdowns than pay Ritchie 2.5 mil to sit on the taxi sqaud

Offensively sure but Dermott is probably a bit better defensively, or at worst even, with Ghost in that regard, which is all we need in a 3rd pairing D to play with Sandin. I'd rather pay Ritchie 1.3M to sit on the taxi squad (bc the cap hit goes down when he's sent down to taxi) than pay a 1st rounder for something we don't need

ya I'd add crouse but I wouldn't move a 1st rounder for him, Bunting-Kerfoot-Mikheyev down the left wing have been pretty damn good. I'd rather spend the assets on a shutdown-pairing RHD partner for Muzzin
