Habs 2022 Deadline Deals

Created by: What_do_i_know
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2022
Published: Jan. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Seems like these are the most likely to happen,

People speculate about Toffoli/Anderson/Gally/Hoffman but i think you lose too much value if you trade those guys with this many years left on their contract. Might aswell ride em out for atleast another season and re-evaluate unless you're blown away with an offer.

Additional Details:

Chairot isn't getting Savard return 1) RD always gets more.
2) Chair isn't the only one available.
Whole supply and demand thing limited supply high demand higher price.
More abundant supply less demand lower price

I'm glad Paul Byron played his first game of the season tonight, but I don't think he's going to get a second-round draft pick, let alone more, and Minnesota doesn't need wingers, they need centers.

The only deals IMO that are sketchy are the Paul Byron one (that one is a bit much looking back at it now maybe just a 3rd or something) and the extra pick that is on the Chiarot trade. I get that Paul B might not go to Minnesota but i think he could be a sneaky add at the deadline for a team that needs some help on PK and some speed. I saw Mini as an option considering they get him for cheap for next year too when they getting hammered on the cap with the buyouts and they have a mid-range mediocre PK that could use some help.

RDs do go for more i agree but i think chiarot is going to pull a 1st + this year. There is more players available but hes among the best names available. What else is out there? 38 year old Staal? Calvin De Haan? Lets not forget Chiarot is sought after because he can play a physical/puck moving type hybrid.

Lehkonen will be traded for a first round pick if not a high prospect and a lower pick.

Appreciate the feedback tho

No thanks! You aren't dumping Paul Byron who went through waivers 2x unclaimed on Minnesota. A player who just also played his 1st game from long injury and would have zero playing time on our team

The minimum return for Chiarot is a 1st lol, come back here after that happens we'll talk about it again.

"dumping Paul Byron" is someone who hasn't watched him very much lol. He had a crappy previous year and injured the one before that. Theres a reason why he was signed to a 4 year deal when he was claimed on waivers. In the right deployment he can be very effective and not to forget he's the fastest guy on the team and one of the fastest in the NHL. If you want to win playoff games you're gonna have to get deeper upfront and not have a middle of the pack PK. Getting him for 2 years at 1.7 for lets say a 3rd would be a steal. but what do i know

You got it I'm willing to admit if I'm wrong, however don't see it happening.
