Flames pass, mortgaging the future to then also loose Gaudreau just to have a player proven to not work with coaches like Sutter is really bad asset management

That bjorkstrand trade is the worst trade I’ve seen on here in a long time. He’s an excellent 2 way player with a great shot and locked up at a good cap hit throughout his prime. Your missing 2 firsts + in value.

Laine probably wouldn't get any playing time under Sutter. Crazy good shot though.

Believe me. Björkstrand is a good player and has a good deal, but he is also a winger scoring at a roughly similar rate to Kevin Fiala. That doesn't get you a top10 prospect in the world.

Would you do Fiala with an extension for Kent Johnson and picks? Probably not.

Bad trade for MN. The cap doesn't work. They need centers not wings.

It ends up costing MN Rossi + 1st +4th + Fiala (traded cap casualty) , just to fill the same spot in the lineup that Fiala already has.
