Should we be buyers this year instead

Description
I've been and still am of the opinion that we should retool our team and make an age cut to our roster.

But what if we should just embrace the core we still have for one more year and go for it this year? We still have our moments after all, and maybe adding some assets might spark up Seguin's and Benn's game too.

At the end of the day what we need is consistency and secondary scoring, and I believe that the latter helps with the former here.

I can get behind these ideas.

Only problem here is that Peterson isn’t in the lineup, he’s miles better than Kivi and is playing better than Rads, and at times is better than Benn and Gurianov.

Honestly the lineups are subject to change game by game basis. Plus with Bowness Glendening is probably getting top6 minutes.

This is just one way of setting team under the cap.

Stars have been a one line team for so long now.

What a 6-1 win against Boston will do 😀

Maybe after the Calgary game, you will be back to reset scenarios.

If we go for it, let’s not trade our 1st round pick. With this team inconsistency, that could be brutal.

Yes, and it’s frankly not even a debate.

You really think Dallas has it in them to win the cup this year? Idk. I think its worth more for them to sell high on Klingberg, Pavel, Radulov, and Holtby, and use those 1sts and 2nd's to quick rebuild or trade for other assets during the off season

I think both teams above ask for more, especially with the retention, AZ in particular since you included Khudobin as well. Good analysis in the description.

I don't honestly, but it doesn't seem like our front office share my view. At this rate I kinda believe they will consider themselves buyers over sellers. But I don't think they will move a first rounder. Nill is not a GM to make rash decisions. He usually makes no decisions whatsoever.

Not a fan of Kessel, but I’m good with grabbing Severson. I’d still move Klinger

Sure if there's a realistic alternative in the market, assuming he's not dealt for futures.
