I believe Chicago was saying (equivalent to) three 1sts for Debrincat. So maybe they would. But I am generally of the belief that wingers are (a) always available and (b) never something to overpay for.

The offense here should be fine if everything else falls into place. On our current roster, there are legitimately 8 guys here who could score 20+ goals ....Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, Holtz, Sharangovich, Wood, Zacha, Mercer (last time a team had 8 was the 2006 Red Wings...1992-93 Caps were last time to have 9).

Its the defense and goaltending that have question marks.

I wouldn’t add Laine for Devils. For three reasons, the acquisition cost will be much too high (we don’t have those pieces in excess), the contract demand will be too high, and mostly because I think our forward group is in good shape. Maybe we add a guy or two, but it’s a young lineup that should produce plenty of goals.
