Wild decline. The Buchnevich trade is a bad comparison since everybody knew from Day 1 that the Rags got an underwhelming return. If that's the market for Fiala, we'd be better of just keeping him and figuring out another way to stay under the cap.

While I agree that it's not enough, the Reinhart return was also underwhelming. On that day, the market for buchnevich and Reinhart was soft. Top line, or minimally top 6 wingers, guys that are a notch below all star, I mean maybe that's what it is, it certainly was when bechnevich and Reinhart got moved.

This is a trash proposal! Rangers wanted a certain player which is why they accepted a 2nd round pick. We aren't trading fiala for a bad AHL player and 2bd round pick

Reinhart wanted out and value was at all times low. Rangers got Samuel B who they were smitten over and targeted in the rangers trade which is why they got only a 2nd round pick

This is so true and something that a lot of teams are going to have a tough time with this offseason.

Again though, the market. Reinhart is now a point per game player, which he was trending towards for his whole career. Should a roughly point per game winger be worth more than a late first and a 6' goalie prospect (who admittedly has absolutely gone off in college this year)? The market decides what a player is worth, and nobody offered more, whether he wanted out or not. Are there teams kicking themselves for not offering more?- my guess is no. Plus Reinhart was due a contract, and his contract looks like a steal on a good team (which of course has no state tax), maybe other teams didn't think they were gonna get that same steal.

These trades are in favor for Buffalo. Boeser is worth more and we don't have to trade for him, Fiala is worth more too.

I don't know why you'd be taking it to the other extreme. But there is no way on God's green earth is boeser worth a top 10 pick and peterka.

The dude has never posted a 60pt season. Even if you take what rate he was at if he played a full 82 game Year his best was on track for 72 4 years ago.

The dude is worth a mid to late first and prospect. Is that prospect better than Bryson yes. But is the prospect gonna be better than Peterka also no.

Boeser is not going for a mid to late first and a prospect, especially with multiple teams calling on him. Canucks are not in a fire sale here and there is no desire to trade him for a so so return. He doesn't get a blue chipper, but he gets an A prospect, a first and something else (2nd, B prospect) depending on the first.
