Canucks pass Myers is actually useful in his own zone

I’d argue Tippett is the reason Barrie is having issues this season. He’s a guy you need paired with a veteran and needs stability with a partner. You don’t want him trying to cover for a much less experienced lagesson. Pair him with nurse and leave it alone they will fall into a groove just like last year. Tippett is completely pissing away a very good asset.

TBH the Vancouver trade proposal is more fair than it seems at first glance. However, it doesn’t work for Vancouver because Barrie’s skill set is redundant and Myers’ skill set is needed for the team. The extra year on Barrie’s salary also doesn’t help

Edmonton doesn't have the cap space and Myers sure as hell isn't a 1st pair defenseman.

Edmonton doesn't play Barrie in the 1st pair very often though. Among RHD Ceci gets the hardest comp and zone starts while Bouchard gets the most ice time.

intresting i thought he was for some reason but then its even more reason for Van not do this trade then, Myers has been a legit 1st paring Dman this year and if was making a 1mill less lost's of people would think he is one of the better ones in the leauge

they have the same length, not an extra year

Van is looking for cap space and offence from the backend
