Zibanejad's NMC is going to be the biggest problem here. He is made for New York, and New York is made for him. He's going to be staying in Rangers for good.

Honestly if Edmonton ever had to choose for whatever reason to move mcdavid or Leon I honestly think they would move mcdavid first. Mcdavid makes flashier unbelievable plays far more frequently dazzles everyone with his ability but Leon is more complete in terms of ability to use in absolutely every situation better defensively doesn’t get caught puck watching as often has been more durable not a knock against mcdavid but his speed does come with that risk factor. He’s had two VERY serious injuries both result of that speed. Extremely doubtful will ever see a situation they have to choose but I don’t think it’s as clear cut as some may think.

A trade for Drasaitl can’t happen without Laf, Schneider, 2 1sts and a center going back which we do not have and even then I probably wouldn’t accept from the Oilers perspective.
