Too bad your deadline plans are not the same as Vancouver’s deadline plans. Boeser is staying

Does the rest of Canucks' Capfriendly know this? I don't think they do.

You’re only getting Boeser if you trade Marino

Honestly, take him and his contract. He's a solid second pairing RHD but not what he was as a rookie.

A little problem there, my man... Zucker. When he's off LTIR, which will most certainly be before the playoffs, they will be wayyy over the cap.

Also, Boeser's qualifying offer is over $7M, so the Pens won't be able to keep him next year.

Dude, you need to do a little more homework on Marino.

You should tell that to more Vancouver fans. Not that I like this trade anyway. It's a terrible trade for the Pens.

The Pens would be insane to trade for Boeser. Giving up all that only to lose him next year since they can't even close to afford him at his qualifying offer.

Boeser QO next season is 7.5M. Canucks can keep him.

Yup. Pens can't afford to give up major pieces for something they will lose in a few months. Yeah, they could move his rights, but they will have no leverage to get a decent return.

No, I don't.

This is him as a rookie.

This is him this season.

Basically, he's a solid shutdown guy that kills offense. Just watch him with the puck in the offensive zone. Occasionally, he will get the confidence to make a move and it works but usually, he's just doing nothing. The issue with him is that the contract that was signed with the expectation that he would improve from his great rookie year is now not looking as good since his offensive game has regressed.

Rutherford thought he would grow into a number 1 D. He simply doesn't have the offensive game to do that. He's nothing special.

He also has a xGF% of 51.49 which is higher than Letang and Dumoulin which is significant. Having a shutdown dman who is going to put up over 30 points with an XGF% more than Letang and Dumoulin? He also has a higher HDCF% of 51.45, also higher than Letang and Dumo, so when he's on the ice he's helping to generate more high danger chances.

Dmen like this who are still developing are NOT easy to to get and lock in at his cost. So yeah, do your homework.

He's not developing. He's developed. He is what he is and will be turning 25 this season. Do homework on aging curves.

And if you want more homework, Dom Luszczyszyn's model has him as a $4.0 million player, which is perfectly fine. The problem is that his cap hit is $4.4 million. Again, he's nothing special.
