Not to be that guy, but Mac might ask for more than 11M$ as crazy as it sounds!

Edit: the cap will go up, so that will help as well

The worrying part is that some of those deals are on the conservative side. Joe has some work to do and whilst it's the same for every team the covid situation really couldn't have come at a worse time for the Avs with how it will affect the cap.

cap will go up but over paying to keep depth players like Compher, NAK, Jost etc 3 years down the line is why you get into Cap hell. smarter cap spending and allowing Avs young prospects to come up to take spots is how you keep the cup window going.

I agree though we have to hope he's a man of his word and if so it could bizarrely even be less, though doubtful. I think if he goes with what he said about taking less to keep the team together then 11 is probably about the right money. The scary part is even with that there are some conservative estimates there to fit under the cap.

Of course you go into cap hell when you give ridiculous contracts like that to NAK, Jost and Compher. This is not good.

EJ should be a bit cheaper by then right? Should be able to take a team friendlier deal considering he has been overpayed for the bigger part of this contract?
