I don't think Vegas accepts that. They need to shed cap and Debrusk makes over 3.5 million. They also can't afford his cap hit. Youd be better off moving debrusk for a pick somewhere and then using that pick to separately acquire Smith, IMHO

Very fair comment. I was being lazy to be honest. but I figured maybe the $1.5 mill cap savings would at least help vegas a little

Please don’t take this wrong burn None of this makes sense, you say we’re not winning a playoff round so why trade away pieces for veteran depth that gets us maybe through 1 round? Unless there’s a part 2 to this where your making a splash (big piece coming in) to push us deeper this makes no sense, as this doesn’t get us much further and leaves us losing JD, Reilly and a 2nd for basically an extra playoff round and a 5th round pick.

Now I am all on board with upgrading RW, this deal doesn’t happen but I like the idea

Leddy isn’t much of an upgrade over Reilly IMO so giving up 2nd for him is questionable

Parise isn’t really needed, could help bottom 6 for sure with some veteran experience but don’t think he’s really going to get much more then a mid round draft pick really, islander don’t have anything invested in him so anything is a positive return, so if you want him take Reilly out and throw a 4th in their face and they probably take it

So you traded away mike Reilly to acquire basically Mike Rielly in Nick Leddy... interesting strategy
