Dumba has more value than this, so no. The change of wild moving on from Dumba is incredibly low

Yeah, I think they would move on from Dumba, if it started with first and a near ready if not NHL ready D man

Don't re-sign Goli and don't trade Dumba for scraps. The team looks much better and the cap works.

Probably a little light on the Fiala contract there, if he would've accepted 6 last offseason he would've been signed 4-6 years. Wild offered all 3 terms at 6M, and I think we can all agree he's taken a huge step forward this year.

Would you move Dumba at the DL then, or hold him and let him walk in FA potentially? If they resign Fiala, they would then have to choose between Boldy and Dumba it appears the year after (I dont think thats even a decision.)

He's the same player he's been since MN got him. Remember he led the team in points a couple seasons ago. This is just the first time he's anyone with skill to play with.

There just seems to be a next level that he's unlocked, almost like he works harder, wins board battles, etc. I do think Boldy playing with him has given him 1) a ton of confidence 2) Less attention, which has led to less frustration 3) he seems more creative.

These are just my observations, not fact.

Why is the chance of them moving on from Dumba “incredibly low”?

Dumba will fetch a lot more than that. Ristolainen got the 14th pick, Chiarot will likely get a 1st.

Also,why give a 37-yo Goligoski THREE YEARS?

Make the Playoff run and let him walk, or find some cap by trading Zucc. If you trade him at the TDL (or before the season) you're just going to be making another trade to fill the hole he leaves in the lineup. Maybe Addison is ready to take over the 2nd pair RD for the next year by then.

Dumba's play has been good, but nothing spectacular the last few years. Maybe he takes a similar contract to what he has now and stays. I just don't see him getting a Spurgeon $7.5m x 7 type of deal anywhere. This flat cap is killing the UFA market since the kids are getting paid instead of them all getting cheaper bridge deals.

Russo mentioned the way management, team sees him is different from how fans see him and that Guerin and coaching staff see him same way foligno, ek and others are seen. Even dean Evason talked about dumba the other day

He doesn't have to do it all himself anymore. He was just as creative before it just led to nothing because the puck died on stick of his linemates.

I think not hitting the post with seemingly every shot and putting the puck in the back of the net eased a lot of the frustration.

I don't think he's ever had a confidence problem. He gives off the vibe of a guy who knows his s*** don't stink. The random temper tantrums he pulls a couple times a year need to stop though.

The winning board battles has been a slow build thing. He gotten better at it each year. Having Boldy does help because again he doesn't have to do it all himself.

Would have to say it seems like the temper tantrums are getting fewer and fewer, I know myself I was worried when Greenway resigned that that would be the writing on the door for him, but it doesnt seem as though he has missed a step at all

It's the same writing on the wall for Fiala as it was last offseason when he chose arbitration and then ended up signing a $5.1m x 1 deal.

Getting Boldy and playing like this is a big FU, middle finger to management saying I told you I was worth what I asked for.

I'm just waiting for the offseason now pay me or trade me discussion to happen.

Which in their current situation is probably the latter, gonna be tricky to find him 7.5+

I think he gets traded, and Boldy becomes the new Fiala. Trying to carry a line of Freddy G and Bjugstad and everyone wondering what is wrong with him.

Yeah no I get all that. But if you look ahead to next year, he’s a $6M pending UFA that has good value. That alone should be enough to dissuade anyone from assuming he’s safe or has a low probability of being dealt.

I get that. But didn't we think this about other players as well? Guerin is unpredictable

Guerin is unpredictable, which is exactly why I don’t understand your confidence to say “Dumba has an incredibly low chance of being traded”.

I just don’t think you can say one way or the other what happens with Dumba.

I was looking at it the other day and saw that he is one of 3 players (Talbot and Rask) that are not playing at or above their contract, so will be interesting.

D-men have strange ratings to me at times. Dumba has been a top pair, 2-way d-man this year, not just a all or nothing points guy like years past.

The PPP aren't there for him anymore, but that is more on the setup and his usage than on him. Boldy seems to have fixed PP1 just by giving them a proper bumper spot. PP2 is still weird.
