Description

Caveat not a move Hawks will or should do. Just interested to see Flames feedback.

How long are the flames prepared to give Monny to get back to production? Im thinking he will prob stay until seasons end and then they will have discussions about what his next steps will be whether its with the team or not. His cap and production aren't a match since his injury. I really hope he can get back to where he was.

He's been fine the last ~10 games, him and Toffoli have also clicked well.

I would do that trade though, also Tkachuk is the team leader. He will get the captaincy at some point, probably after signing his next deal

I agree. His brother has the C in Ottawa and he will most definitely be eager to balance the ledger in his favour.

I don't see Toews leaving CHI, if he wanted to move however I wouldn't hold it against him. He has come back to a mess and I know Sutter would like a Toews type player. ( not that he wouldn't like Monny, just Toews is different level)

Not a Blackhawks or flames fan but if I was a flames fan I like that deal. Toews could be huge for them in the playoffs if that somehow happened.

Blackhawks get ripped off in that trade proposal
CGY would do that in a heartbeat
Why Chicago would do that is a mystery to me though

U guys should be able to get much better for Toews
Especially if you’re retaining

Im a neutral but Flame, maybe a little less retention on Toews so that his cap hit would equal Monahan's

I'd rather bank on a Toews resurgence than do this trade. I don't see Monahan as anything more than a 2C, I've heard he is lacking in the brains department. But, more to your point, it will definitely be interesting to see what teams like Calgary, Colorado, and Vegas do at the TDL and in the offseason to get cap compliant and where a lot of players end up.
