Description

I've always thought that the Sharks are in one of the worst positions in the league in terms of team direction. They have some awful contracts, they only have a few young players worth keeping and their prospect pool is very thin. At this TDL I think they should try to dump some of their bad contracts and try and get some picks for rentals. They also absolutely have to trade Hertl bc he's a UFA, and I think they can get a haul for him.

Dump Vlasic. Buffalo asks for a first but I really don't see SJS wanting to move any firsts especially for this draft since they're rebuilding. SJS counters with a 2nd 3rd and mid level prospect. Buffalo takes it because they have an unhealthy amount of cap space anyway and they want picks, plus Vlasic could be a good mentor for Dahlin and Power.

Take out one of the 2nd round pick. But also according to our beat writer if he's right, our gm would say no to any ask of 1st round picks and prospects like Beckman for rentals. He's counting on elc players to help us through the huge caphole

Vlasic is honestly awful at this point and I wouldn't want him there to mentor the wrong things to the youngsters. Not to mention with his cap + years left you'd be looking at multiple 1sts.

no one is trading for Vlasic and even if there was a chance Vlasic blocks, he has said multiple times he wants to retire a shark.
Hertl won’t be dealt it would be bad for attendance and we’re already hurting in that regard.
we won’t find a better option at 3/4c for cheaper than 1 mil so keep Bonino unless there is zero retention.

yea at 50% retained he’s a good leader amd mentor but even at 50% we would still have to add and at that point it’s still better to just buy him out.

Vlasic will just be bought out and Bonino half retained should bring back more than that especially if he goes to a contender. Wild fans take Russo’s word as gospel and he’s all knowing so the wild aren’t looking to add.

With Skinners resurgence the Vlasic contract becomes the worse in the NHL - so you keep that little honey for yourselves.

This is the 1st time I’ve ever written Russo. Wild fans are just like Ranger fans in that nothing of value in their franchise is on the table and is “untouchable”
