In this scenario why wouldn't Edmonton just trade Koskinen directly to Buffalo and save their 4th round pick?

The 4th is for Jones(Plan B if they cant get Fleury). Edmonton does trade Koskinen to buffalo and late-round pick to buffalo to free cap space and buffalo gets the pick to take on a goalie that can aid their goaltender situation because they're a bit thin with injuries.

Honestly the 2 biggest issues I have with the COL trade are, COL needs to add a dman not just swap one out (unless Byram is healthy) and I don’t think COL does any trade where they are giving Barron AND a 1st for a rental. It’s damn creative for sure though. Very interesting, nice work.
