Flames don't have that kind of capspace. We can barely afford Greene let alone Cluterbuck

I'd take the Chara deal too. Can't have too many defensemen

flames have 870,750 in capspace at the deadline. greene plus clutterbuck (50% retained) will be ca. 800,000! this deal only works at the deadline in terms of money. flames would also bury ritchies contract in the minors.

How did you figure they would be 800k combined? Did you prorate their contracts and use Cap Friendly's prorated TDL cap space? Those are virtually the same thing

800k is actually wrong. today, clutterbuck has a remaining caphit of 1,032,500, half of that is ca. 500k plus greenes reaining caphit is ca 220k. the trade could work right now. please correct me, if i`m wrong!

1st: BOS doesn’t have cap space for Nelson, they could make the room but Then with his 6M next season leaves us pretty tight to cap (less then 7m with unknown if Bergeron is coming back along with other roster fills) not a whole lot of room, granted folingo gets moved off-season makes 3.8m available so not impossible for sure

2nd: probably should of lead with this one, Urho doesn’t get moved for 30 year old center IMO, he’s very responsible, smart, good hands top 4 LD ( he’s basically Carlo but LD instead of RD) this is is first real chance in the league and he’s looked excellent, with BOS aging LD he’s going to be mainstay on top 4 pairings for years which is worth a lot more to BOS then what Nelson brings.

Not saying I don’t like Nelson or wouldn’t want him in the team, I just don’t see BOS giving up this for him, BOS might be willing to trade a Zbroil, in a package, he was arguably better then Urho this season but the ACL injury took him out, the only reason I think BOS would be willing to move zbroil is he’s smaller but way more offensive minded, which is great cause he’s still a good defenseman but with BOS already having Grez, and Grez being a Boston boy, I don’t see him going anywhere and their skill sets are the exact same, then BOS also has another younger LD offensive minded player in the pipeline making Zbroil easier to convince moving on from

If you are good ng to use prorated cap hits you can use prorated TDL cap space. Also at the TDL the players are 80% prorated

so that deal should be doable for the flames, right? if not, they can easily dump a contract or use another team as a brooker.

They really cant easily dump a contract though but yeah in theory Ritchie and Stone would be placed on waivers to free up some space
