That would depend on the pick, but I'd rather not give up Atkinson. But it sounds like there's no other way. Could 2 first round picks get Neal?

I wish I saw this earlier, as yes, 2 first round picks would have easily gotten Neal... but he was part of a package that sent Spooner and NYR 1st to me

Edit: I think Mike Green could be a good replacement for Carlson, his offensive and defensive numbers are super solid, and only carries a $3M cap hit. That's one idea.

Saad+Edmunston for Jones?

A trade like that is possible, but Green isn't attractive to me. As a die hard Caps fan, I remember him very well. He was excellent and should've won a Norris with us, but he isn't near what he used to be. I really don't think Green is that good. Numbers will say whatever, but he hasn't passed my eye test in 5 years. I'd need a different replacement.

If you can find someone willing to do that, I'm open to it. But the only thing I'm going to give up in this trade is Carlson

No way. Edmunson is okay, and Saad is a top winger, which is a lot less valuable than a top pairing defenseman in Jones. I'd need something substantial coming back my way to move Jones, and this just isn't it. If you have a top four defenseman you're willing to give for Jones, I'd listen
