I went this route, because we have players on RW (hopefully) like Coe or Ozzy, coming up soon. I wanted Barabanov back, but we still have Balcers making 1.5, & I went w/ Hinostroza because he's cheaper & a RH shot. Still don't know what to do w/ Simek & Vlasic?

Zero chance that Hertl would waive for Buffalo 3 team trade list, He's not going to waive for a Non-Playoff team like Buffalo. And Cozens and a potential late 1st would be beat.

I don't think the Sabres will trade Cozens and I don't think Hertl waives for Buffalo

Yeah, probably not, I just thought it would be a win/win for both, probably more so for SJ, because they can't lose Hertl for nothing & not get a decent C back.

Why wouldnt buffalo just wait to sign him in UFA if he would hypothetically agree to a sign and trade. Then you get him for free

No kidding lol... That would be like the leafs trading nylander and a first for tavares before he was set to become a free agent that summer. Buff can overpay if ufa if they want him that bad but if not dont trade away cozens whos going to be really good
