Byram is a player Avs fans can look at destroying the league in 8 years and Kane is retired. That would sting a lot, but it’s the cost for Kane. That’s why more is added to the deal (if Byram doesn’t work out).

That’s just ridiculous. One the Avs aren’t trading Byram period, Wow somebody said Sakic asked about Kane, every top hockey journalist has said COL will be mentioned in every rumor.

From experience that doesnt sit well with many avs fans....

Never happening. Byram and Makar are the backbone of the Avs defense for the arguably the next decade. CHI shot themselves in the foot by taking Dach instead of him. Would Kane be nice sure but the Avs are the best team in the league without him why in the hell would they trade their most valuable young piece for a 33yr old winger?

How often in the next decade are the Avs going to be able to add young cost controlled franchise type dman that’s ready to play? Never. Byram is one of 8 core players that the Avs won’t trade. And make no mistake Knowing Toews is going to need a new deal in 2 seasons and somebody will throw monster money at him he is even more important.

I like Dach. I thought CHi was taking Byram and the Avs would end up taking him, but CHI has kind of mishandled him, covid didn’t help either.

remember he was the one who claimed avs were only offering Landeskog a 5m aav deal....Asking about a player doesnt mean anything, every team asks about players constantly, that is the GMs job. They check in on values on the market.

his stuff is for entertainment at this point, its wild that this guy always has the avs juicy rumours for a franchise that is historically tight lip and doesnt leak anything, even the own local coverage cant get that sort of info, but a failed NHL lifestyle magazine guy has the connections? in regards to the actual trade, I dont do it. A high scoring RW is not the avs needs, especially one in his mid 30s. The wheels fall off for everyone, they dont need to mortgage the future for a 1 year kick at the can with Kane

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Avs actually did ask about Kane. He’s entering the last year of his contract and his team is going into a rebuild. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kane/Toews are both having discussions with Davidson about their future in Chicago.

With Kane’s full NMC, there are probably only a select few teams he would actually waive for (which I assume includes Colorado). I think the value in this trade is off, but Kane would probably have a hell of a return if he is on the block.

That's way too much from the Avs even if it's Kane and it's a non-starter once Byram is mentioned.
